Auburn Basketball fight against cancer” is an activity program of the Auburn University basketball team as part of the fight against cancer.
Auburn Basketball leverages its influence in the community and the support of its fans to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and treatment, with the ultimate goal of combatting this disease. The inspiration for the program came from Chris Lofton, a former Tennessee basketball player who overcame testicular cancer through early diagnosis and treatment in his local area.
Auburn basketball organizes an AUTLIVE game annually. During this game, the players and coaches wear unique t-shirts to pay tribute to cancer survivors and fighters. Through basketball matches, fundraising events, and other activities, Auburn Basketball’s fight against cancer aims to increase cancer awareness, encourage patience and tolerance of those with the disease, and support research support and high-quality care to find more effective treatments.
