The highly anticipated film “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3” has hit theaters, introducing three new creatures from Rocket’s enigmatic past: Lylla, Teefs, and Floor. This movie it as one of the best movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and praises the poignant backstory of Rocket.
Rocket, a genetically engineered raccoon with metal implants and scars, has always harbored a mysterious past. In the movie, Rocket forms a bond with his newfound companions: Lylla the Otter (voiced by Linda Cardellini), Teefs the Walrus (portrayed by Asim Chaudhry), and Floor the Rabbit (voiced by Mikaela Hoover). Unfortunately, they are captured and subjected to modifications by the villainous High Evolutionary, all while being confined in a cage.
Each character undergoes unique alterations as a result. Lylla sports metal arms, Teefs has wheels, and Floor possesses multiple mechanical limbs. Despite their dire circumstances, they find solace in one another’s company, sharing dreams of freedom and providing comfort. However, their lives are tragic when the High Evolutionary plans to “incinerate” them.
Rocket manages to escape, but the villain ruthlessly kills all his friends in a heartbreaking scene. In the comic book source material, Lylla is portrayed as Rocket’s soulmate and heir to a toymaking empire on Halfworld following the murder of her parents. Teefs pays homage to the character Wal Rus, a loyal companion who aids Rocket on his adventures. At the same time, Floor is believed to be inspired by Blackjack O’Hare, a rabbit mercenary who opposes Rocket.
